No, we did not have a fire at our house, but we did go to the Palatine Fire Department's open house with our friends Ed and Braeden. The kids had a blast climbing on the fire engines, although they wanted to play with everything in them! They also played a game where they could put out the "fire" in a little house by throwing bean bags through the windows. They also scarfed down on popcorn and hotdogs (well, Annabelle had some hotdog) before heading over to go shoot an actual fire hose. Unfortunately, right as it was Annabelle's turn, they had to take the hose away to do a re-enactment of a house fire. It got really hot where we were sitting, and Annabelle started to get scared, but the firefighters came and put out the fire and saved the day! By that time, Aiden was "toast" and we needed to go, so they never did get a chance to shoot the fire hose. :(
